Repricer – automated Amazon price management explained.

Automatic price adjustment against the competition.

A repricer watches your competitors' prices and adjusts your price automatically – within the limits you set.

Hold the Buybox, protect your margin

What this means for you

Repricers in practice.

The configuration is decisive: a repricer that only knows "always the cheapest" ruins your margin and starts price spirals. Used sensibly, it holds theBuybox without giving away margin needlessly – it only drops as far as necessary and goes back up as soon as the competition allows.

Rule-based or algorithmic?.

Rule-based repricers follow fixed instructions: "undercut the cheapest Prime seller by a penny, but never below £18.90". They're transparent and easy to control – but they react rigidly, even when the rule happens to be a poor fit.

Algorithmic repricers instead try to win the Buybox at thehighest possible price. They test how far the price can be raised without losing the Buybox. That's far kinder to your margin, but it needs data and good parameters.

The most important safety mechanism is the same in both cases: a cleanly calculated price floor that accounts for all costs – Amazon fees, cost of goods, shipping, return rate.

Configure it correctly.

01
Derive the floor from your margin

Not from gut feeling, but from the real contribution-margin calculation.

02
Define the upper limit

So the price doesn't climb unrealistically when there's no competition.

03
Don't react to everyone

Sellers with no chance at the Buybox don't need to be undercut.

04
Wieder hochfahren

A good repricer raises the price as soon as the competition disappears.

05
Ausnahmen erlauben

Promotional products and clearance sales need their own rules.

06
Review the results

Read Buybox share and average price against each other regularly.

Common mistakes.

!

Setting it to "always the cheapest". This leads to price spirals in which everyone involved loses in the end.

!

Price floor too low. If you don't factor in returns and advertising costs, you sell below value.

!

Never look again. A repricer needs its results checked regularly.
